SkyEye UAV Catapult Launcher is a highefficiency ground launch system designed for fixedwing UAVs in the 3050kg class. It uses hightoughness rubber bands for energy storage and a pullcord release, delivering a pure mechanical launch speed of 915m/s (not including the UAVs own propulsion) with an adjustable launch angle of 68. This allows UAVs to take off safely without runways or in confined spaces. The whole frame is built from highstrength aluminium alloy; deployed length is 6.2m with a 5.5m rail, while folded size is only 2.2m, making it easy to transport by vehicle and quick to reposition in the field. Electric winch reset, with a team of 3 people, allows deployment/retrieval in about 10 minutes, greatly improving mission responsiveness. The system operates in temperatures from 20C to 60C, has an IP54 rating, withstands winds of at least Force 6, and adapts to hard, soft, or sloped terrain whether in high altitudes, islands, jungles, or disaster zones. It is widely applicable to emergency rescue, border/coastal patrol, power/pipeline inspection, agricultural surveying, environmental monitoring, and more. It is the reliable partner that frees fixedwing UAVs from runway dependence and enables mobile deployment.

Note: Default cradle is SM200G; for other models, please contact customer service. Frequently Asked Questions Q1: My UAV weighs exactly 50kg can the launcher safely launch it?Yes. The recommended launch weight range is 3050kg, so it is well within the limits. However, please ensure the UAV mounting points are compatible with the cradle; if you use a nonstandard model, contact us for a customised cradle in advance. Q2: Does the launch speed of 915m/s include the UAVs own motor/engine thrust? No. This speed is purely the mechanical speed provided by the launcher rail; the UAVs own thrust adds to it after leaving the rail, resulting in a higher actual takeoff speed. Please set the appropriate release timing according to your flight control logic. Q3: What if the battery runs out in the field? Is the battery mandatory for reset?Reset is done by an electric winch that requires an external 12V 80AH leadacid battery (usersupplied). If the battery is dead, manual reset is not possible on site, so we recommend carrying a spare battery or charger. The release operation itself is a mechanical pullcord and does not rely on electricity. Q4: Can it be used on soft ground (grass, sand) or slight slopes? How to ensure launch direction stability?Yes, the launcher is designed for soft and sloped terrain. However, make sure the rail is firmly set and does not shift due to gravity or recoil. We recommend using ground stakes or ballast, and compensating for the slope with the adjustable launch angle (68). Q5: Does the 10minute deployment/retrieval (3 operators) include cradle modification and UAV mounting? No. The 10 minutes refer only to the time needed to unfold the launcher from its folded state to launchready (or vice versa). It does not include UAV loading, cradle adjustments, or preflight checks. Please allocate extra time for modelspecific adaptation. Q6: What is the service life of the rubber bands? How to inspect them?Rubber bands are consumables; their life depends on usage frequency, temperature, and stretch level. Generally, we recommend replacing them every 200300 launches or every 12 months (whichever comes first). Check regularly for cracks, hardening, or significant loss of elasticity if any abnormality is found, stop using and replace immediately. Q7: What if the UAV gets stuck on the rail or the release hook doesn’t disengage during launch?First, cut off winch power immediately and keep all personnel away from the launch direction. Check whether the slider is fully in place and whether the cradle hook is jammed. For minor mechanical jams, you can use a pry bar or push rod to help release it. If the problem cannot be solved, contact our technical support do not force launch or use violent disassembly. Q8: Can it work in rain or high humidity with IP54 rating?IP54 provides dust protection and splash resistance, so light rain or brief humid conditions are acceptable. However, we recommend using a simple rain cover to protect the winch motor and battery connections. In heavy rain or standing water, stop operation and wipe the rail and lubricate after the rain. Q9: How long does one electric winch reset take? How many resets can a 12V 80AH battery support? Each reset (pulling the slider back from the launch position to the initial position) takes about 12 minutes. Battery consumption depends on load; typically, a fully charged battery can handle 2030 resets. We recommend checking battery voltage before each mission and carrying a spare. Q10: Can the folded size (2200570620mm) fit into a regular SUV or pickup? The length (2.2m) is relatively long; most SUVs may not have enough longitudinal space. We recommend using a pickup or small van. If you must use an SUV, you can fold the rear seats and place it diagonally, but ensure it is securely fastened to prevent sliding during driving. Q11: What data do I need to provide for custom cradle/mounting? Will it affect the UAVs CG?We need the UAV model, 3D drawings or scan files of the bottom structure, the centreofgravity position, and the load capacity of the mounting points. Our engineers will design the mounting points to match the UAVs CG and the rail release point, ensuring the CG remains unchanged and the takeoff attitude is stable.
